HALCO Engineering was founded by Hal Cooper, in 1950.
Hal Cooper an engineer by profession, was a keen fisherman who had an interest in fishing reel manufacture and later fishing lures in conjunction with general engineering production in a small premises at Mosman Park, Western Australia. In 1980, the company was sold to Neil Patrick. In late 2001, Neils's son Ben, purchased Halco. Today Halco Engineering based in Fremantle, W.A. remains the largest fishing lure maker in Australia.
